| （School of Physical Education，Soochow University，Suzhou 215021，China） Abstract: The author discussed strategy contemplation and path selection with respect to the foreign relationship of sports in China in the early period after China was founded, and put forward the following opinions: in dealing with the foreign relationship of sports in China in the early period after China was founded, the Chinese government, by sticking to the diplomatic policy of independence, created a favorable new situation for the foreign development of sports in new China and built a good foundation for the comprehensive development of the sports undertaking in new China later by carefully adhering to unanimous diplomatic strategies of China and by selecting different spe-cific paths, while enabling the foreign relationship of sports in China to obey and serve the diplomatic guideline of China.
