本刊概况
　　《体育学刊》原名《体育学通讯》，由林笑峰教授于1987年创办，编辑部设在华南师范大学。1994年更名《体育学刊》，由教育部主管，中国高教学会体育研究分会主办，林笑峰教授任主编。1999年起由华南理工大学和华南师范大学联合主办，杨文轩教授任主编，在各级领导的关怀和广大体育工作者的大力支持下，《体育学刊》取得了长足的进步。2000年入选中文体育核心期刊，2002年在《人大报刊复印资料》1574种人文社科报刊排名中居前20位，在体育类期刊中居第二位。发行量在同类刊物中名列前茅。2003年创建体育学刊网站，成为首家实现来稿网上查询功能的体育学术期刊；获首届《CAJ-CD规范》执行优秀期刊奖（2003年）；入选第二届、第三届全国优秀社科学报（2002、2006年）；中国高校优秀科技期刊（教育部科技司2006年）。2006年进入CSSCI来源期刊；编辑部坚持为受众提供高质量的信息服务为理念，从2003年开始，《体育学刊》逐步搭建了门户网站、“体育在线”网络学术论坛和《体育网刊》网络电子刊物，实现三大网络平台、纸版刊物之间互动的运营模式，架构了一条体育信息的高速路，使各类体育学术信息直达每位体育工作者身边，实现网络体育信息共享。2008年启用在线投稿系统，2009年《体育学刊》入选中国学术期刊评价报告（RCCSE）体育科学类“权威期刊”。
本刊宗旨
　　关注体育，促进学校体育发展，提高体育科研水平，为提高全民身体素质战略目标作贡献。
读者定位
　　我刊重视学术品位，追踪学术前沿，反映体育动态，促进文化传播，为全国近百万体育工作者服务，发行遍及海内外几千所大、中、小学，具有广泛的影响。
