| （1.Department of Physical Education，Xiangtan University，Xiangtan 411105，China；2.School of Physical Education，South China University of Technology，Guangzhou 510640，China） Abstract: By combining normal study with empirical study, the authors dissected different characteristics of the mechanism of the cultivation of backup talents for competitive sports in the planned economic system period and the market economy system transition period in China, pointed out that in the transition period the differentiation of interests of such three parties as the state, collective and individual in the cultivation of backup talents for competi-tive sports is aggravating; under the situation that the mechanism of coordination of interests of various layers is not completed, the authors set fort a new system guided by market economy regulation, so as to clarify, marketize and systemize the interests of various parties in the cultivation of backup talents, and to form a new mechanism of inte-gration in which state, collective and individual interests are mutually coordinated.
