| （School of Physical Education，Jishou University，Jishou 416000，China） Abstract: The author studied the cataloging of traditional minority sports events and their cultures, hopefully to es-tablish a database of traditional minority sports events and their cultures to facilitate retrieval and utilization by readers, so as to protect traditional Chinese minority sports events and their cultures, and to boost and deepen the study of traditional Chinese national sport. The methods are mainly as follows: referring and collecting information regarding traditional minority sports events and their cultures, as described in classical literatures and other disci-plines such as folklores and literatures; making meticulous and in-depth literal descriptions of the circulating status, cultural functions and cultural origin of existing traditional minority sports events by means of field investigation; carrying out audio, video and photo recording on the active process of existing traditional minority sports events; collecting related folklores; carrying out information processing on acquired information.
