Abstract: The curriculum performance evaluation system must vary with curriculum teaching objectives. Although the existing gymnastic performance evaluation system used by the physical education department in institutes of higher learning in China has embodied the “three basic” requirements, it has, in the process of evaluation, focused more on competitive gymnastics than on basic gymnastics, more on move completion ability than on move ar-rangement ability, more on demonstration ability than on education teaching ability, and more on result evaluation than on process evaluation, thus it cannot adapt well to the requirements of new cultivation objectives. A new evaluation system has been established to evaluate various abilities acquired by students in order to reflecting new teaching ideas and teaching objectives.
