Main research topics existing include 4 topics. There are 4 major problems in these researches: 1) the researchers showered attention on the application study of specific measures for resolving athlete social security, but cared little about basic theoretical study of the connotation and pattern of athlete social security; 2) in these researches, more attention was paid to the construction of internal components of the athlete social security system, but the connec-tion between the athlete social security system and the external environment was neglected; 3) most of the re-searches aimed at building a theoretically justifiable athlete social security system, but probed little into operation issues such as athlete social security management system; 4) these researches focused too much on “hot topics”, lacked in in-depth study, had serious repeated study, and did not form a research system. In such researches we should strengthen the study of the mechanism of formation and transition of athlete social security, and pay attention to the study of athlete social security functions, and to the study of the athlete social security management system.
