| （College of Physical Education，South China Normal University，Guangzhou 510631，China） Abstract: The spirit of nationwide fitness, which was advocated by Sunshine Sports Project,puts forward new re-quirements and targets for the promotion and development of physical education. In order to accelerate the devel-opment of physical education in our nation, we should initiatively absorb the new ideas and technology from foreign countries, and we should also excavate the excellent characteristics of our traditional sports culture so as to promote the preservation and generation of traditional sports culture in modern society. As a new branch of modern gymnas-tics, national body mechanics has its unique advantages and characteristics in carrying forward traditional national sports culture. The continuous deepening and perfection of national body mechanics research provides a new de-velopment space for the gymnastics in our nation, therefore, it has a bright prospect in the implementation and prac-tice of Sunshine Sports Project.
