Abstract:By using literature metrological method,the author analyzed descriptions of experimental animals in theses on the science of moving human body issued in China between 2003 and 2004,and revealed the following findings: Respectively 4.09%,37.84%,92.88% and 97.08% of the theses failed to describe the breed/strain,origin,hereditary background and microbiological quality of the experimental animals;respectively 39.92%, 20.47%,12.87% and 98.25% of the theses failed to describe the age,weight, gender,sex and certificate of quality conformity;respectively 49.13% and 46.78% of the theses failed to mention the breeding manner and experimental environment for the animals; respectively 66.13%, 80.12% and 50.81% of the theses failed to describe the type and dosage,anesthetizing method,executing manner with respect to the anesthetics used.The results prompted that scientific research personnel should pay attention to descriptions of experimental animals in scientific research theses,so as to make their theses more scientific.
