Annual Conference 2015
Theme: Sport, Urbanization and Social Stratification in Asian Society
CALL FOR PAPERS
 Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics
27 – 28 November 2015

The annual conference of the International Journal of the History of Sport (IJHS) will take place in Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Nanchang, China over the weekend of 27 - 28 November 2015. The conference is jointly organized by the IJHS and the School of Sports at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, China. Paper proposals are invited from all areas of the discipline, related to the conference theme: Sport, Urbanization and Social Stratification in Asian Society. A detailed list of themes is below. Please note that all the themes should be discussed and analyzed in the context of urbanization in Asian countries.

• Youth participation in sport and leisure activities
• Gender differences in sport participation
• Migrant workers and sport participation
• Sport participation among older age groups
• Disabled people and sport participation
• The rise of middle class and its sport activities
• The development of sport clubs and societies in urban cities and its implication of social stratification
• Sport and social integration, social inclusion and exclusion
• Sport and social quality and inequality

Procedures for submitting abstracts, full paper and panel
Please submit your abstract of no more than 100-150 words to Dr. Jing Feng at xnfjing@163.com by 15th June 2015.
The abstract should be submitted as a word attachment and include:
• The title of the paper;
• The name(s) of the author and affiliations,
• Professional status (e.g. PhD student, Post-doc, lecturer, professor, independent scholar)
(Note: For Chinese authors, please submit your abstract in both English and Chinese.)
You are welcome to assemble a panel. You could do this by bringing together other potential panelists. Panel proposals must include the theme of the panel, abstracts and contact details of each paper.

Notification on paper acceptance will be given on 15th July 2015 and full conference paper should be submitted to Dr. Jing Feng at xnfjing@163.com and Dr. Zhouxiang Lu at paullu598@msn.com by 15th October 2015.

All the abstracts will be published in the conference programme. The IJHS will select quality papers from the conference to publish them in IJHS in 2016.
